Survey: IL Farmers Buying More Farmland
Prices being paid for Illinois farmland continue an upward spiral as fewer farms are available, and neighboring farmers are the buyers, says a new survey just released by the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. The survey was conducted by the University of Illinois and the results were released Wednesday at the Farm Progress Show.

August Turns as Dry as July was Wet
August 2008 has been extremely dry, compared with the soggy months of June and July across Illinois and much of the Midwest. Since August 1, many reporting stations in Illinois have received less than 1 inch of rain.
