Pollination Weather Looks OK
Farmers may avoid one of their biggest fears again this season, drought-like conditions after a wet spring, based on the Natonal Weather Service July outlook that predicted an increased chance of below-normal temperatures and above-average precipitation for the month across much of the state.

Gov. Quinns Vows to Veto Temporary Budget
In an 11th hour speech before a joint session of the Illinois General Assembly this afternoon, Gov. Pat Quinn told lawmakers he will veto any attempt to pass a temporary budget that would cut vital social services in Illinois. The governor said he is ready to keep lawmakers in session for the rest of the summer, as long as a balanced state budget is agreed to. The state's fiscal year ends at midnight tonight.
